Parentsencircled the field, ***s than ten seds remaining, the ballrolled in front of my son’ s teammate, one Mikey O’Donnel. With shouts of “ Kick it!” eg across thefield, Mikey reared bad gave it everything he rouhe crowd erupted. O ’ Donnel hadscored! Then there was silence. Mikey had scored all right, but in the wrong goal, ending the game in a tie. For amoment there was total h ush. You see, Mikey hasDown’ s syndrome and for him there is no such thingas a wrong goal. All goals were cele***ted by a joyoushug from Mikey. He had even been known to hug theopposing players when they silence was finally broken when Mikey, hisface filled with joy, grabbed my son, hugged him andyelled, “ I scored! I scored! Everybody won! Everybody won!” For a moment I held my breath, notsure how my son would react. I need not have worried. Iwatched, through tears, as my son threw up his hand inthe classic high - five salute and started ting,“ Way to go Mikey! Way to go Mikey!” Withis both teams surrounded Mikey, joining i and gratulating him on his that night, when my daughter asked who hadwon, I **iled as I replied, “ It was a body won.”热词空间e n. 鼓励, 激励, 奖励erupt vi.
